Sisters: Reflecting on an Earlier Photography Collection

When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, you can almost see that they each have their own unique personality and attitude. When you put them together, you can see the subtle interactions and dynamics between them. It is a lot like sisterhood.

In this past photography series, two or more blooms of the same kind were captured in the same frame to show their relationships.

I have found a great deal of empathy for flowers and inevitably relate the same feelings towards the women in my life - my mom, my sister, my friends, and even those I have seen or read about but may not truly know, near or far. They move me every single day with their beauty and strength; they are as much my muse as the flowers I capture. My work continues to be a tribute to them.
